Jazz Age Britain: Art Deco and Dance Bands
Summary
Great Britain emerged victorious from World War I bereft of the brash confidence of the Victorian and Edwardian periods. The British embraced the brave new world of jazz, art deco and modern design with a certain diffidence. More radical change was brought by the influx of refugees from Nazi persecution.
