In 1947, Jewish American gangsters, replete with cash, donated thousands of dollars to support the fledgling State of Israel. Sandra Meyers will talk about how the increasing hostility from surrounding Arab nations caused leaders of the Yishuv to see the Kosher Nostra as their saviors.

Sandra Myers did her MA in Jewish history at UCL and was a director of the LJCC (London Jewish Cultural Centre) from its inception. She has worked for over 20 years with the Citizens Advice Bureau.
