Michael Cardo Discusses His New Book “Harry Oppenheimer: Diamonds, Gold and Dynasty”

Michael Cardo is a member of Parliament in South Africa, and serves as the Shadow Minister of Employment and Labor. Born in Durban, he was educated at the University of Natal and the University of Cambridge. From the latter institution he holds a PhD in history. He worked as a political researcher, speech writer, and policy analyst before being elected to Parliament in 2014. His most recent book is Harry Oppenheimer: Diamonds, Gold and Dynasty (2023).

Dennis Davis is a judge of the High Court of South Africa and judge president of the Competition Appeals Court of South Africa. He has held professorial appointments at the University of Cape Town and University of the Witwatersrand, as well as numerous visiting appointments at Cambridge, Harvard, New York University, and others. He has authored eleven books, including Lawfare: Judging Politics in South Africa.
