Karen Milner (PhD) is an associate professor of psychology in the School of Human and Community Development at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. She is registered as an industrial/organizational psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa, and her teaching and research interests are in the field of employee well-being and mental health at work. Karen has published extensively in the field of health and well-being (including mental health) in the workplace in both local and international journals and has spoken at many local and international conferences on this topic. In 2021, she published the book Beyond Tea and Tissues: Protecting and Promoting Mental Health in the Workplace. In addition to her work at the university, Karen is the elected national chairperson of the SA Jewish Board of Deputies (the representative spokes body for the Jewish community in South Africa). In that role, she has committed herself to fighting all forms of racism and anti-Semitism in this country.
