Trudy Gold
The Jewish Situation in Western Europe in the Interwar Period and Zionism

Wednesday 26.06.2024

Summary

World War I changed everything and led to the collapse of old empires as well as social, economic, and political instability. Against this backdrop, the majority of Western Jews held onto the ideal of emancipation, while trying to be a part of the country in which they lived. This lecture focuses on British and German Jews and their relationship with Zionism.
