The Split: Confronting the British Empire 1944-1947

Tuesday 30.07.2024

Summary

As the horror unfolded in Europe, how did the various factions within the Zionist movement deal with the appalling catastrophe? This was confounded by the British not altering the restrictive immigration policy of the 1939 White Paper. This session will examine the extraordinary events of 1944–1947 that led to the United Nations Partition Plan of 1947.
