The Armenian Genocide 1915: Its Origins, Meaning and Consequences
How to watch
This lecture starts on 26 September at 7:00pm (UK).
Summary
This session will look at the causes, meanings, and consequences of the Ottoman Empire’s attack upon unarmed Armenian civilians within its borders during the First World War. We shall look at how much was known at the time and by whom and how these events informed further genocides in the “bloodlands” of Central and Eastern Europe from 1918 to 1945.
