The Scramble for China
How to watch
This lecture starts on 20 January at 5:00pm (UK).
Summary
In this edifying presentation, we will look at the case of China, and how 19th-century Western imperialism was not undertaken for the purpose of colonisation (with some exceptions) but rather to take over China’s economy to the financial and trading benefit of the West.
