William Tyler
The Anarchic Interwar Years

Monday 3.02.2025

Summary

With the fall of the Manchu before World War I, China entered a period of turmoil which was to last until the Communist Party came out as eventual winners in 1949. This presentation will cover the period from the fall of the Qing dynasty in 1912 to the start of the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1937, which itself became a precursor of the wider conflict of World War II.
