Puccini’s Sopranos
How to watch
Summary
Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924) was always intensely engaged with his heroines and with the sopranos who sang them. Happily his career as a composer coincided with the invention of the gramophone. In this talk we shall hear the voices of all the sopranos he worked with–some he loved, some he loathed, and some with whom he was romantically involved.
