Passover in Times of Appalling Persecution
Summary
Pesach has always been central to the Jewish experience. As we prepare for the festival, we should remember periods in our history when the Jewish people still managed to commemorate despite almost insurmountable difficulties. In this lecture we examine three situations: the conversos under the Inquisition; Russian Jews under communism; and Passover in the Warsaw Ghetto, 1943.
