How to watch

This lecture starts on 29 April at 7:00pm (UK).

Summary

The Talmud was and is the enigma of Jewish survival, historically loved and reviled. Yet while Christianity revered the Hebrew Bible, it attacked the Talmud as “blasphemy against God and his Christ.” The Talmud and its supporters faced censorship, disputation, burning, and destruction, the results of which continue to impact Jews to this day.
