Tamara de Lempicka: Art Deco Icon
Summary
The lecture provides insights into the life and art of Tamara de Lempicka (1898–1980), a prominent artist of the early 20th century. De Lempicka’s glamorous and controversial persona is explored, along with her artistic style, which blends elements of cubism with classical influences from artists like Ingres and Bronzino. Despite her success and fame, De Lempicka’s work fell out of fashion in the late 1930s, but she continued to paint until her death, driven by a strong artistic vocation.
