Trudy Gold
America and the Holocaust, Part 1

Tuesday 23.01.2024

Summary

The genocide of the Jewish people began with the invasion of Russia on 22 June 1941. By December 1942, enough evidence had reached the West for the Allies to issue the Joint Declaration by Members of the United Nations, which was published on the front page of the New York Times. How did the American government and the Jewish leadership respond to the unfolding catastrophe? This two-part presentation will examine one of the most painful episodes in Jewish history, the ramifications of which still echo today.
