How to watch

This lecture starts on 25 November at 5:00pm (UK).

Summary

This presentation will look at two legendary historical figures. Horatio Nelson (1758–1805) is the embodiment of the British hero. The victor of many naval battles, he died in the moment of victory in his greater battle of all—Trafalgar. Robespierre (1758–1794), the initiator of the worst excesses of the French Revolution, himself fell from power and found himself executed on the very apparatus that he had used during his Reign of Terror—the guillotine.
